Tiempo de Partir   (Time to leave)

Qué me puede importar, después de todo,
el trance de partir, si yo he logrado
llenar cada minuto transcurrido
con un claro vivir enamorado;
si la vida no fue, en definitiva,
sólo un motivo más para haber amado.

It does not matter, after all,
the critical moment of departure,
if I have managed to live every minute of my life
in a clear state of being in love.
For life has been, in deed,
just one more reason for having loved.

Qué me puede importar el corto tiempo
que resta por vivir, si la jornada
tiene un punto final ya establecido
y la vida es la muerte demorada;
si hay un tiempo de amar, que ya he vivido,
y otro de soledad, olvido y nada.

The short time that’s left to live does not matter to me,
for the journey has a preestablished ending point
and life is just a delayed death;
For there’s a time to love, which I have already lived,
and another time of loneliness, oblivion and nothing!
